The Carer Project encourages carers and community members to seek out as much information and support as possible to help care and advocate for our most vulnerable children and young people

The Office of the Guardian for Children and Young People's primary role is advocating for children and young people in care

On their website you can also access the Charter of Rights for Children and Young People in Care  

The Commissioner for Aboriginal Children and Young People is the only independent body created solely to promote the rights, development and wellbeing of Aboriginal children and young people

The Carer Project worked with legal counsel and The Ombudsman to achieve a Freedom of Information ruling that gives carers access to the  Department's Manual of Practice and other policies. We strongly recommend carers consult this policy list and make themselves aware of the policies and processes that should be followed by all involved in the child protection sphere
